What do you need? ⇒ Stick trucks
With a pitch trolley, you slide the pitch plate under your load. They are particularly useful for moving homogeneous loads: loads in one piece, i.e. with a flat underside. They come in handy, for example, for quickly loading and unloading small stacks of boxes from lorries or when moving house.
Many hand trucks are also collapsible and therefore hardly take up any space. But don’t let its narrow appearance deceive you: a hand truck can lift up to around 350 kg (depending on the model). This makes it a robust and compact partner. One more tip we can give you: the thicker the tyres of the trolley, the easier it is to drive over uneven surfaces.
► 2. Small stacks of heterogeneous goods or loose objects
What do you need? ⇒ Platform trolleys
Not only in a large warehouse, but also in shops and offices you often see platform trolleys appearing. They are mainly used for moving heterogeneous loads or loose objects that are difficult to stack, for example. Use your platform trolley to transport boxes of varying sizes, for example, or fill them with smaller packages or buckets. There are robust platform trolleys that can carry up to 600 kg.
► 3. Large stacks of heterogeneous goods or loose objects
What do you need? ⇒ S helf trolleys
Shelved trolleys are similar to platform trolleys but consist of several shelves, allowing you to stack your goods vertically. This allows you to transport many more goods at once than with a platform truck. There are compact shelved trolleys for the office, but also larger models that can move up to 600 kg.
► 4. Large goods or valuable products
What do you need? ⇒ Roll containers
Roll containers have side walls (along 2 to 4 sides) as standard. As a result, your goods cannot fall out of the container when you move them. This makes a roll container the safest and most protective solution for moving your products. If you want to go a step further, it is best to choose a roll container with a padlock. The roll cage thus acts as a metal cage in which your products are protected from theft.
► 5. Pallets
What do you need? ⇒ Pallet trucks
To transport heavy stacked pallets without problems, it is best to use a pallet truck (or pump truck). They are made of indestructible steel and effortlessly lift loads of up to 2,500 kg.
When it comes to pallet trucks, there are many different models to choose from. Did you know, for example, that polyurethane wheels work best on flat floors? And it is best to choose rubber wheels if your pallet truck has to cope with an uneven floor (remember that rubber wheels can leave marks on the ground)? Another fact: a pallet truck has a standard length of 1.15 metres, but there are also models with a fork length of 0.8 metres. These are more likely to come in handy in narrow spaces or in a lift.
► 6. Continuous movement of parcels
What do you need? ⇒ Roller conveyors
When you need to handle a constant supply of parcels, it is much more practical to use a roller conveyor instead of a platform truck or roller container. Your parcels roll through your warehouse from point A to point B without you having to do anything more yourself. You can also find all the options and benefits of a roller conveyor in our guide to packaging machines and systems.
- Are there hand trucks for stairs? You overcome all obstacles and transport loads of up to 400 kg safely up and down your stairs. Very handy when storing goods on an upper floor or in a cellar.
- Some pump trucks have built-in scales? So you can weigh and transport your pallets in one go. A time-saving option!
- Are there other ways to efficiently manage your warehouse besides rolling stock? These include working out a picking route, smart product addressing, cross docking, and so on.
