In e-commerce, your customer’s opinion will be formed as they open your parcel.
1
Aim for neat and aesthetically pleasing packaging.
Even if you have just started an e-commerce business, do not reuse the same cardboard boxes over and over again, repackaging boxes you have received.
If they have already suffered shocks, they lose 30 to 60 per cent of their strength and do not convey a good image.
2
Security. For packaging to provide the best protection, it must be specific to the product being shipped.
Your product must not dance around inside.
For each box size you can buy as few as 10/20 units, so you can find customised packaging for each of your products. You will also save on courier costs based on the two variables weight/volume.
There is packaging suitable for books, for bottles, for clothes, for artwork, etc.
Packaging that adapts in height to your product:
3
Lock and protect
Couriers will handle your parcels on conveyor belts, and in any case they do not always handle them gently, if the product is not properly locked, it will be thrown around.
- place fragile or sharp objects in the CENTRE of the box;
- wrap them individually with a layer of bubble wrap;
- fill all empty spaces with other FILLING MATERIAL, paper, air cushions or the classic crisps, which remain an inexpensive solution, but are not appreciated by the recipient as they scatter everywhere…
4
Choose packaging that allows you to optimise speed, productivity, storage volume.
Indicatively, when you use more than 10 bags of chips per month it becomes convenient to switch to an ad hoc packaging system (1m3 of flopak has a lower yield than air cushions).
It is true, however, that already from 15 shipments per day we have a filling system called RAPID FILL.
Of course, then beyond 100 shipments there are more complex filling systems.
They must be calibrated to your large or small working environment, your storage cycle, your production rates.

5
If you ship items with a high economic value, use anti-crushing tapes.
Or opt for gummed paper tapes, or tapes printed with control indications. Or for more expensive items choose security tapes that leave traces of colour every time they are removed.
6
Tell your customers to sign courier slips with a specific reservation (the generic one has no value in the event of a claim against the couriers).
Write this at the bottom of your order confirmations or transport documents.
You will more easily resolve disputes due to breakage during transport and you will be able to claim against the couriers.
7
Make way for your logo.
A neat and customised parcel will have a great impact.
Opt, however, for anonymous packaging if you ship items of high economic value or if you run a sexi shop.
You will avoid theft and embarrassing situations for your customers, who have their goods sent to your office.
Or opt for in-house printing if you handle large volumes.
You will combine image requirements with those of discretion and confidentiality.
