GALIA, the Groupement pour l’amélioration des liaisons dans l’industrie automobile, requires certain standards in the packaging of automotive parts (FEFCO codes 0201 and 0312).

Especially if you work with groups such as Peugeot Citroën, Renault or Renault Trucks, you should adapt your packaging to the required carton standards.

Internationally accepted cartons fall into two groups:

• A = without lid, manufactured as normal American boxes with four wings.
• C = with lid, fitted with bottom and lid (with optional handles)

These references e.g. A16,A15, A14 or C13G, C14G, C16G, are always printed on two adjacent faces of the boxes.

Therefore, boxes conforming to the GALIA standard are immediately recognisable and classifiable by the most trained eyes.

What does the GALIA mark guarantee?

It guarantees perfectly palletisable boxes with dimensions and strength suitable for standard parts.

The boxes, designed with dimensions sub-multiple of those of a pallet, allow optimal use of space.

They therefore allow the creation of stable and regular pallets, maximising the security of shipments.

GALIA boxes are also made of totally biodegradable and recyclable (100%) cardboard, free of heavy metals.

The expert’s advice

When mixing different box formats on a pallet, we recommend placing the smaller formats at the bottom and the larger ones at the top.

For example, we recommend starting the pallet with a small format such as A14 (40X30X15 cm external measurements), making a first layer.

You can then place a second row of A13 (40x30x20 cm external measurements), a third of A12 (40x30x30 cm external measurements) and finish with a row of A11 (60x40x20 cm external measurements).
