Goal reached 15 million steps, or € 15,000 to the LP4Y association, which supports single mothers in the suburbs of Manila and Jakarta.

What is the Foundation RAJA Danièle Marcovici?

Raja has always been a women’s story. The group was founded in 1954 by Rachel Marcovici, who fought for the creation of her own company in the very male-dominated world of packaging. Even today, the Raja Group is still led by a woman, Danièle Marcovici.

She is responsible for the creation in 2006 of the RAJA Foundation Danièle Marcoviciwhich, since its inception, has donated €3 million to contribute to the advancement of women’s rights worldwide.

The Foundation operates mainly through 3 axes of intervention.

It supports projects for the improvement of women’s condition in the world.

She informs, testifies, denounces the injustices suffered: infibulation, child brides …

Raises awareness and mobilises RAJA employees to the Foundation’s actions.

This year on8 March, the Raja Foundation will donate €15,000 to the non-profit association LP4Y.

What does the non-profit association LP4Y do?

Life Project For Youth was established in the Philippines in 2009.

It takes in young people between the ages of 17 and 24 in its centres, removing them from the slums of the big metropolises in South-East Asia (for less than EUR 1.5 per day).

Life Project Cent res are training centres where young people gain confidence in their own abilities, through education and learning a profession, to realise a life project outside the slums.

The numbers:

12 Life Project Centers have already been established (Philippines, Indonesia et Vietnam).

Four new centres will be founded in India during 2015.

500 children have been taken in by the association since 2009.

What does the RAJA group do for LP4Y?

Since 2012, the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation has supported 2 Life Project Centres specialised in supporting girl mothers:

Centre Tondo à Manille (Philippines):

• Accommodates 45 girl mothers and their children.
• Activities include the creation and production of toys and fabric accessories.

Centre Senen in Jakarta (Indonesia)

• Accommodates 12 single mothers and their children.
• Production of handcrafted food products (chutneys, jams…).

In both centres, young mothers develop professional independence that will enable them to build a better future for themselves and their children.

The ball is in our court.

We didn’t take the lift, we talked to colleagues in other offices instead of sending them an e-mail, we carved out a moment in our lunch break for a walk all together or a game of five-a-side football.

We all marched together: managers, employees, warehouse workers. We walked 15 million steps. We did good and we are in better shape too!

We counted our every step because LP4Y was counting on us.
