Courier foils and bubble wrap – properties and applications

3min read 07/10/2017

The number of customers buying online is increasing year on year. The increasingly popular use of delivery options is forcing webshop owners to ensure that goods transported by couriers and postmen directly to their customers are well protected. Tight packaging is a guarantee that the consumer will receive the product intact and that we, as the seller, will not suffer unnecessary losses.

This can be helped, among other things, by bubble wrap and courier foil packs, the properties and use of which are becoming increasingly widespread.

Courier printed plastic bags – characteristics

Good performance characteristics make courier films indispensable in all kinds of distribution centres, logistics centres, warehouses and wholesalers.

Here are the most important advantages of courier wrap:

  • lightweight
  • flexible, stretchable – resistant to stretching and bending;
  • economical – not expensive, allows to transport even large and unwieldy objects; purchased in parcels it is even cheaper;
  • versatile – it can be used to transport a wide variety of items – from newspapers, books and cosmetics to clothing;
  • with a practical closure;
  • compact – takes up very little space.

Bubble wrap – applications

Bubble wrap, thanks to its excellent properties, finds versatile use in the e-commerce industry. It is an indispensable component of mail order shops in virtually every industry.

The foil is used to wrap products delivered by the company by means of pallets, e.g. consumer electronics and household appliances, such as fridges, dishwashers or televisions, but also fragile shipments – ceramic and glass. When doing so, it is advisable to use additional packaging, such as a polystyrene plate or protective cushions.

In the case of fragile products, “Caution Glass” or “Up and Down” warning labels can also be used. Courier film is characterised by a high level of flexibility and, at the same time, durability.

Foil packages with courier printing – applications

The following are the most important examples of courier foil applications:

  • organic food shops – shipping loose products placed in smaller bags, e.g. herbs, teas, yerba mate;
  • online drugstores – selling products such as shampoo, hair dye, mascara, etc;
  • online clothing shops – offering blouses, sweatshirts, shirts, dresses, etc.
  • online leather goods stores – such as briefcases, gloves, wallets, etc;
  • online bookshops – press, books, stationery, albums;

Foil packs work well in any shipping industry that specialises in selling products that are light, unbreakable and relatively small in size. These types of products are sold in packs of 100. The more packs we buy, the less we pay per piece included in the packs.

The best solution for online shops. Printed foil packs

Courier foil packs are the perfect solution for those selling at online auctions and running online shops. The foil packs can be used for clothing, loose goods or drugstore products.

Printed foil wraps are a product created with a specific company’s needs in mind. They fit in with a brand’s visual identity, using its characteristic colours and graphic patterns. Additional data can be printed on them, such as website addresses, contact telephone numbers or the increasingly common return instructions. This makes printed foil packs a great choice for online fashion shops or online drugstores.

In addition, they also have great advertising potential – every recipient who holds a foil pack in their hands becomes familiar with the brand’s graphics even before opening the package. For example, important information about the opening of a new shop or the arrival of a new collection can be included.

On the other hand, resealablefoil bags are ideal for all kinds of invitations, advertising leaflets or postal inserts that are exposed to bad weather conditions. Rain or snow means that the paper can easily be damaged. The plastic bag effectively protects the materials from damage.
