Types of labels – labels for printers

3min read 05/09/2018

At a time when it is no longer just the quality of the goods that influences the purchase decision, but every little detail that counts – it is worth looking a little wider and focusing on the details. Sometimes all it takes is a few well-developed details to guide the customer through the marketplace and help him or her to choose the right product. Often, a detail as inconspicuous as the product label can make the difference between a purchase and a sale. Would you like to find out how to label your goods to stay ahead of the competition, catch the customer’s attention and make him or her choose your product? Read on!

Types of labels for printers

Depending on the type of products on offer and the method of distribution – sometimes self-adhesive labels, preferably thermal transfer or thermal labels, sometimes cardboard labels with a tag, and at other times courier foil envelopes will work better. Labels designed for copier printing are made from high-quality bleached paper. There is a choice of up to 11 formats in 2 types: with rounded corners and square. Thermal transfer and thermal labels are intended for printing on special printers. They are characterised by high print durability and good adhesion to surfaces. They are therefore often used for marking shipments. Cardboard labels, on the other hand, are definitely more elegant – if you want to promote your brand or shop, you should consider this type of label. However, it is always important to ensure that the cardboard label is well protected during transport. For frequent shipments, classic courier labels will work better.

Application of labels

Although labels are mainly used for marking goods or addressing shipments, they can also be a valuable tool to help promote a brand in the marketplace. Interestingly, building a coherent brand communication strategy based on different types of labels is neither difficult or labour-intensive, nor expensive. All you need to do is stock up on the printable self-adhesive sheets we offer and design effective parcel labelling. Thermal transfer and thermal labels, on the other hand, are perfect for proper labelling of goods. All we will need is a special label printer and a wax-resin thermal transfer ribbon, from which the pigment is transferred to the label under the influence of heat. The printout produced in this way is durable and resistant to abrasion or smudging. A well-prepared label will serve not only an informative but also a decorative function and, importantly, can intrigue the customer. What is more, the label can also educate and even interest, which contributes to a favourable view of the entire company.

Secure shipment

There is nothing worse – from the point of view of both the sender and the recipient – than a badly labelled parcel. The delivery time is then extended and the customer becomes impatient and irritated. In order to avoid such black scenarios, it is worth opting for aesthetically pleasing thermal transfer or thermal labels. They can be affixed to any package without fear of peeling off, and the print is permanent and not susceptible to smudging. In order to further secure the documents attached to the parcel, it is worth using courier labels specially designed for this purpose. They enable the contents of a parcel to be identified at a glance and make it easier to reach the indicated address. What’s more, they can also be supplied with your company logo – a further step towards your brand’s identification and thus building your competitive edge in the market.

If you run an online shop or wholesale business, it is worth taking the time to prepare your own labels. The goods will then look consistent and aesthetically pleasing, and the customer will certainly take notice.
