Envelopes – their use and types

Envelopes have many uses, so it’s important to choose the right type. And the range is really wide – from traditional envelopes for sending correspondence, through cardboard and bubble envelopes for sending small items, to foil and security envelopes for courier mailings.

Envelopes are not only useful for sending business or official correspondence. They are also used for sending smaller items. RAJA offers a really large selection of envelope types and formats, including: self-adhesive envelopes with a protective strip, with a window, expanded envelopes, self-adhesive envelopes, foil envelopes, security envelopes, returnable envelopes, cardboard and bubble envelopes and various formats, including: DL, B5, C5, B4, E4.

Various envelope designs and formats

RAJA offers many envelope formats, viz: DL, B5, C5, B4, E4 as well as types such as: envelopes with window, self-adhesive with protective strip/self-adhesive or expanded envelopes. Windowed envelopes are designed for manual and frequent mailing of documents. They are made of white paper – the centre is grey. Expandable envelopes have the option to increase their depth to 40mm to accommodate more documents. They are fitted with a self-adhesive strip. The risk of printing punctures is minimal. Self-adhesive or self-adhesive envelopes are convenient to use as there is no need for glue or adhesive tape. DL envelopes are white business envelopes for sending all business correspondence, including invoices, letters, documents.

Foil envelopes

They are courier envelop es – made from 60-micron thick polyethylene – and are completely opaque, so ensure discreet mailing. They are equipped with a self-adhesive strip for easy closure. They protect the parcel from wetness and humidity – they are 100% waterproof, as well as being tear and crush resistant. They also come in an expandable version – with an expandable bottom – 120 or 200 mm.

The RAJA also offers SAFEBAG security envelopes – once closed, they cannot be opened without breaking the security features, and it is not possible to reseal the envelope. They are made of three-layer polyethylene film – resistant to mechanical, thermal and chemical damage. Easy identification is ensured by tear-off shipping slips and space for dates and signatures.

Particularly useful for online shops, on the other hand, are return envelopes with a double self-adhesive seal. These make it very easy to return goods – one self-adhesive strip is used to close the envelope and the other for eventual return. So the customer can return the goods in the same packaging. Opening is quick and easy – using a micro-perforated strip. The envelopes are watertight and tear-resistant. The inner part is black, which guarantees the discreetness of the parcel.

Transparent foil envelopes are also available – for sending invitations and flyers. They are lightweight to reduce postage costs and have multiple self-adhesive closures with a protective strip. They are watertight.

Cardboard envelopes

These envelopes are made of sturdy, hard cardboard – they have a double paper and cardboard structure. They provide effective protection against crushing for thin and delicate documents. They are equipped with a self-adhesive closure with a protective strip. The following types of cardboard envelopes are available: cardboard reinforced, white, lightweight cardboard envelopes with adjustable height – for documents, Suprawell self-adhesive envelopes (for sending flat items), RAJAMAIL protective envelopes (with reinforced corners), rigid economy cardboard envelopes (made of wood fibre).

Bubble envelopes

Two types of bubble envelop es are available – RAJABUL and MAIL LITE foil envelopes. These envelopes are used for shipping small, delicate items (books, records, clothing, accessories, jewellery, etc.). Thanks to the inner bubble foil, you can be sure that your package will not be damaged. They are robust and resistant to external factors (including moisture and damage). They have a self-adhesive closure, which is very practical. Bubble envelopes are very economical – their low weight saves on postage costs. MAIL LITE foil envelopes protect against shocks and are puncture-proof. They are even lighter than paper envelopes and therefore even more economical.
