Plastic bags are used on a daily basis – they are used to pack food in the shop (vegetables, fruit or bread), to store products and to transport them. They are therefore indispensable. Unfortunately, they are not environmentally friendly. Fortunately, there are several eco-friendly alternatives to the ziplock bag on the market.
By far the best alternative to plastic bags are eco cloth bags – reusable. However, there are times when we are out shopping and don’t have them or need to send something. This is when it makes sense to choose eco paper bags or those made from recycled materials. In this way, you can significantly reduce the amount of discarded waste, the decomposition time of which is very long. A plastic bag takes about 400 years to decompose! By comparison, it takes one second to produce a plastic bag and 30 minutes for a human being to use it.
Paper bags work well as bags for smaller purchases, second breakfast, and can also be used for food storage. They are made of kraft paper, which is strong and durable, so they can be used many times. Paper bags are also environmentally friendly.
The paper is 100% renewable and biodegradable. The average decomposition time of paper is 6 months – depending on the type of paper and the moisture content of the earth. Paper can also be reused – for example in the form of recycled toilet paper.
Eco-bags and paper bags
The paper sacks are very strong – made from sturdy kraft paper with a weight of 140 or 70 g/m2, they also have a flat and reinforced bottom. They do not tear. They are very roomy as they have side tabs to allow for expansion. There is a choice of 5 formats.
Large eco paper sacks are also available, which are highly resistant to punctures and tears. They are recommended for storing and transporting heavy products. They have an expandable and reinforced bottom.
In the RAJA offer you can also find robust maxi bags made of kraft paper with a weight of 150 g/m2. They are very stable – they do not tip over. They have twist handles in the colour of the bag (brown), making them comfortable to carry. Thanks to the side tabs, you can increase their capacity.
You can also buy traditional bags, but made from half recycled materials.
Eco sacks recycled
Eco bags of this type are made from low-density 60 micron polyethylene. 50% of the materials used in their production come from recycled sources. They have a zipper closure, making them very easy to open and close, as well as a hole for hanging. They are also available with a self-adhesive closure. They can be used for food packaging. They come in a practical feeder pack, which protects them from dust.
