A guide to eco-friendly shipping packaging.
Both customers themselves and packaging manufacturers are paying increasing attention to the environment and how waste from different types of packaging affects it. As a result, interest in ecological packaging is steadily growing. What is gained by using such packaging and what types of packaging can be used in your business?
Eco packaging – an ecological revolution
Consumers and businesses are increasingly aware of the need to reduce waste, which translates into greener packaging. More and more people do not want to use more packaging than necessary. Ecological shipping packaging must meet the criterion of using less raw materials during production, should be made from recycled materials and be reusable. Traditional plastic packaging is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Most goods can be shipped using eco-friendly shipping packaging.
In addition to reducing waste, it is also crucial for the planet to reduce the carbon footprint, which is possible by, among other things: reducing material and energy consumption, increasing the proportion of renewable substances, increasing the durability of products and increasing the proportion of recycling in waste recovery.
Ecological packaging from RAJA – for conscious entrepreneurs
RAJA is actively involved in the ecological transformation of the packaging market. Eco packaging and environmental protection are key elements of the Group’s strategy. As a distributor, RAJA wants to provide access to packaging that perfectly protects products during shipping, while at the same time adopting a sustainable approach to reduce the negative impact on the environment. For this reason, for many years RAJA has been carrying out activities such as: assisting in the design process of new packaging solutions, advising on the choice of more ecological packaging, reducing the carbon footprint during delivery, extending the offer with new ecological alternatives (ecological cartons, recycled packaging, made of natural raw materials, reusable).
RAJA promotes good practices in green packaging, so it has created 5 principles of green packaging, i.e. reduce, reuse, replace, renew, recycle.
Ecological parcel packaging – 5 principles of eco-packaging
According to RAJA, the 5 principles of eco-packaging should be followed in order to reduce waste and package more responsibly.
Firstly, reducing the use of packaging, i.e. reducing its weight and volume to the minimum necessary to ensure proper product protection. A large choice of packaging formats reduces unused space, fillers, waste and transport costs.
Secondly, reuse, i.e. designing packaging so that it can be reused.
Thirdly, substitution, i.e. replacing packaging that is not recyclable or has a negative impact on the environment with planet-friendly alternatives.
Fourth, renewal, i.e. the use of bio-based packaging that is made from renewable natural materials, including recycled materials.
Fifth, recycling, or reprocessing. In the RAJA shop you will find a large selection of recyclable packaging.
