Unbreakably into Advent

3min read 07/10/2010

Every year the same thing! Colleagues bet on who will bring the first gingerbread or chocolate Santa Claus to the meeting that year. Advent starts in October? Well, as we know, it’s never too early for Advent. In many companies, not only do preparations for the Christmas shop begin just after the summer holidays, but also for Christmas deliveries. We like to give good customers and partners a little treat at the end of the year. Quite high on the list of gifts: a picture book, a memory stick and a bottle of good wine.

It’s silly if you lovingly choose a gift at the last minute, but it ends up breaking somewhere along the way and never reaches its recipient. A precious drop gets soaked up somewhere in No Man’s Land full of packages and parcels and the pleasure is left halfway. Nice work!

The way to prevent this, of course, would be to hand over the bottles in person. Where unfortunately this opportunity is not offered, adequate secure packaging to prevent breakage is offered. PTO – that’s the watchword. It stands for Postal – Transportation – Authorization and it is a so-called protection insurance integrated into the packaging to protect its contents. This is provided, for example, by DHL or UPS for matching PTO-certified packaging – you can tell by the corresponding PTO number on the box. If the contents of a certified package are actually broken, the shipping company is responsible for this, without any excuses.

However, it is in any case highly unlikely that such a thing would happen. Because before a package can get a PTO number, it has to go through severe tests. For example, a box like this is dropped eight times from a height of 80 centimetres onto each of its edges. Only if it survives this without damage is it eligible for the PTO and may also be used in trade.

For example, the certified Cargo bottle packaging from the current Rajapack range. In it, you can safely and securely ship from one to twelve 0.75 litre bottles : Bordeaux, Burgundy, Sekt or even Champagne. The boxes are made of stable five-layer cartonboard in a quality of 30 kilograms or, in the case of one bottle, 20 kilograms. The outer surface is made of kraft paper. Such an icing on the cake is the internal “Speed” grid that holds the bottle in place in the box. No costly assembly, simply a light pressure to the side and the grid unfolds itself, so to speak.

Those who find this too practical or not festive enough can naturally opt for a special bottle gift box, for example. In any case, the gift will arrive safely to its recipient. Every year the same – and naturally not only at Christmas 😉
