If everything doesn’t run just right on a film, it’s simply cut. Unfortunately, that’s not how it works in real life. In my experience, most missteps happen when you’re in a hurry.
In the ranking of the most frequently used sentences, “Just be quick…” is definitely very high. “Quickly” is often very closely linked to “actually”. Do you have any idea where I’m going with this? Does your colleague actually know that his fixed-blade pocketknife is not suitable for opening a package in which new goods have just arrived, but he did it quickly because there was no more suitable tool lying around? That’s exactly what I think!
Although we at Rajapack by nature pay attention to closing, wrapping, gluing, filling and securing things, that doesn’t mean we don’t entertain thoughts of unwrapping, opening, ripping and cutting. We were all the more alarmed by the results of one study by a retail trade association*. It would be possible to prevent 96% of workplace injuries when opening boxes by using box cutters with self-blades.

When it comes to cutting, success doesn’t depend purely on the proverbial blade. That’s why MARTOR offers a knife whose safety is even certified by the TÜF. The blade of the Combi foil cutter is safely stored in the handle and cuts only what it should: foil, leather, plastic box straps and even (safety) belts. Also, the automatic blade retraction on the Optisafe or Smartcut knives guarantee a fumble-free opening of the packages. In the above mentioned survey, MARTOR employees were given safety knives with automatic blade lock and explained how to use them. A total success: not a single accident occurred in the following year.
And that is, as we say – to stick with film terminology – a happy ending indeed!
