Rajapack Czech Republic continues to grow

Paris / Prague, 05 May 2013 – Concern RAJA, the European market leader in the B2B mail order market for packaging materials and machinery, has achieved a total annual turnover of 411 million euros. With this result, the Group has surpassed the previous year’s figures despite the difficult economic conditions. The Czech branch of the Group Rajapack s.r.o. also contributed to this result. With the opening of the new Rajapack Sweden branch in September last year, the Group expanded its presence in Scandinavia and thereby strengthened its market leadership. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Danièle Kapel-Marcovici received the French award for medium-sized business strategy “Prix de l’ETI de l’année”, capping off a successful year.

On 17 April in Paris, Danièle Kapel-Marcovici received the prize for successful development of the French family business RAJA, in recognition and appreciation of her many years of constant strategic development. “RAJA is today a well-known brand with a high testimonial factor. We have been working on this since 1954,” said Danièle Kapel-Marcovici. “We are always watching the market so that we can adapt our development and the whole company to economic changes.” This strategy, which at the same time is based on the needs of customers, is paying off: last year the RAJA Group, with its 1,400 employees in 15 countries and 18 locations, achieved a total annual turnover of 411 million euros, despite the continuing difficult competitive conditions.

With the establishment of a new leading organisation in June 2012, the RAJA Group underwent a transformation in order to adapt to the scale, diversity and international development of the Group.

As a result, the Group Executive Committee is primarily involved in creating development and expansion strategies, but also focuses on new business projects. The aim is to maintain favourable growth in 2013 and later to break the 500 million euro turnover threshold in 2014. In doing so, RAJA relies on three important aspects: tapping into the existing great potential in the main European markets, seizing acquisition opportunities and establishing new subsidiaries in other countries. Personnel policy also plays a role in success. The RAJA Group relies on diversity and considers gender balance to be very important (53.4% female, 46.6% male), both in staffing, training and, of course, in wage policy. In addition, the Group supports sporting activities and has thus set up its own RAJASport Association which financially supports its members.
