How to make colorful tissue paper flowers

2min read 30/05/2016

Classic gift packages consist of two parts: primarily attractive gift paper and a coloured ribbon, which is made into a bow. But if you want to take your gift to the next level, we have a great tip for you! We have a great tip for you: add handmade flowers to your gift. You need nothing more than coloured tissue paper and string. What is tissue paper? You can read about it here.

In our offer you will find many colourful variants of tissue paper. Just choose a suitable combination and you can start creating. We have prepared instructions for two different colour variations. Other colour combinations are left to your imagination.

What do you need? Two different coloured tissue papers, adhesive tape, string or ribbon and scissors.

First example: apple green and purple

A nice, very modern colour contrast.

Pomůcky

Here you see everything you need: a sheet of purple tissue paper, a sheet of apple green tissue paper, a glossy green ribbon, adhesive tape. And let’s not forget the scissors…

Make the stem by folding a piece of purple paper – once lengthwise and once crosswise. Fold the green tissue paper in half – the longer side.

Start wrapping the green strip of paper around the purple stem, squeezing as needed to achieve the petal effect. Leave the first half of the leaflet folded over, and press the other half against the stem.

With the first step complete, we now do the same with the purple paper. Fold it in half…

…and start wrapping it around the flower.

When we’re satisfied, we tie the flower with the ribbon.

Finally, cut off the excess stem.

Second example: pink and red

We chose the colour to resemble a real rose. Again, the green ribbon is not missing. We can also use adhesive tape for a better fixation.

Done! And now it’s up to you what colour combination you come up with and who you give the flower to! As you can see, wrapping is fun. You can even make a whole exhibition out of tissue paper. Maya Freelom Asante, for example, will convince you of this.
